Examples of Student-Colored Self-Narratives
Areas of Need
Program Recruitment
-We need resourceful, articulate individuals to recruit at-risk high school art programs to participate in this project: The students in these participating programs will color line art pages associated with the self-narratives written by incarcerated individuals. Some of these participating art students may also opt to compete in the Learning Curve Coloring Contest for awards and prizes.
Graphics and Imaging
-We need artistic individuals to help us create graphics for the self-narratives: These images showcase the backstories and life lessons of incarcerated individuals and are generated using traditional drawing media and Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop.
Training and Development
-Help us develop print and web content: Individuals with expertise in WordPress and web programming are needed to answer questions from staff building-out our web portal.
We also need training and assistance with publishing (using Adobe InDesign) and motion graphics (using Adobe AfterEffects and Adobe Premier).
Funding and Supplies
-We appreciate help with funds to cover prizes awarded to teens participating in the coloring contest and funds to cover our printing costs.
